Philosophical #Dog Question: A dog’s sense of its own #mortality?

Actually, if the truth be known, philosophically I would rather not wear this silly turkey on my head.

Wikipedia states that “… it has been estimated that dogs, in general, have an olfactory sense ranging from one hundred thousand to one million times more sensitive than a human's. In bloodhounds, the olfactory sense may be up to 100 million times greater than a human's.”
It has been found that dogs are adept at detecting through smell drugs, explosives, missing children and many diseases, such as breast, bladder, bowel, lung and colon cancer, and even type 1 diabetes.
If the dog’s sense of small is up to 100 million times better than a human’s, when a dog smells its own urine or defacation, will it understand what disease it has or might be getting.  And, if that is so, and if the dog knows that he or she is smelling its own urine, does that give the dog a sense or precognition of its own mortality?   Just asking.
“The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too.  Samuel Butler
