#Carrie #Underwood #rescues abandoned #dog

Country pop singer Carrie Underwood has a soft spot for helping and rescuing animals.
The star has helped raise awareness for the Humane Society and has done her part to help raise funds for rescue organizations nationwide.
But just before the new year, Underwood put her love of animals into action by rescuing an abandoned dog from an interstate highway.
According to this article from People Pets, the singer was driving between Oklahoma and Tennessee with her two dogs, Ace and Penny, in the back of her car when she noticed two injured dogs on the median of the highway.
Without thinking twice, Underwood pulled over to help. Unfortunately, when she got there, one of the dogs had died, but the other dog, a Labrador, was hurt, but still able to get into Underwood's vehicle with a little help from the singer.

Underwood took the dog to the emergency vet and also had the dog groomed while beginning the search for a new home for the abandoned animal.
The dog, which Underwood named Stella, lived with the country singer and her husband for a few days while she recovered. The singer even helped to house train the dog.
Luckily, neighbors from down the street agreed to take the dog in and give Stella the loving home she deserved.
